Kōkako hit record numbers in Hūnua Ranges

The census shows 418 breeding pairs in the Hūnua Ranges, up 61% since 2022. Held every four years, it's jointly funded by Auckland Council's Natural Environment Targeted Rate and the Department of Conservation.
